Ruinart collaborates with Chef Chris Denney to unveil menu inspired by World Renowned Artist Liu Bolin celebrating Frieze Exhibition

Ruinart, official Champagne of Frieze Art Fair, is to combine its commitment to contemporary art and gastronomy through a special collaboration with Chris Denney, Executive Chef of the critically acclaimed restaurant 108 Garage. The unexpected 8-course menu entitled ‘Reveal the (In)Visible’ inspired by the eponymous exhibition of commissioned camouflage artworks by world-renowned Chinese contemporary artist Liu Bolin will be available during the run up to and beyond Frieze Week from 21 September until 20 October.

“Ruinart has a strong connection to gastronomy and has connected with the world’s most creative chefs for many years. The experience at 108 Garage with Chris Denney truly encapsulates Ruinart’s connection to contemporary creation and ‘vivre est un art’ (living as an art form),” explains Frédéric Dufour, President of Ruinart.

Chris Denney was invited to visit Maison Ruinart in Reims to meet Ruinart Artist of the Year Liu Bolin and explore the creative settings behind the eight artworks revealing hidden aspects of the world’s first established Champagne House which are to be exhibited within the Ruinart Bar at Frieze London from 4 7 October. Inspired by this experience Denney has devised a thought-provoking collection of dishes that emulate this concept of ‘revelation’ such as Jelly Fish with unripened green mango – a rarely used and surprisingly ‘sea spaghetti like’ ingredient which is revealed as the second biggest threat to ocean life.

“This collaboration with Ruinart has allowed me to follow my passion of using unique ingredients to create a menu that is both visually astounding and appetising. It has been an exceptionally creative and inspiring journey that has tapped into the very essence of what I strive for in terms of an explorative culinary experience,” comments Chris Denney.

Tables can be reserved for lunch or dinner on Fridays and Saturdays for guests to explore the ‘Reveal the (In)Visible Menu’ expertly paired per course with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Ruinart Rosé NV or Dom Ruinart Rosé to complete the culinary experience.
