BURBERRY, BENTLEY, RALPH & RUSSO, THE SAVOY, SELFRIDGES AND FLOWERBX INCLUDED IN THE SHORTLIST OF NOMINEES FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
Award nominated English actor, singer and songwriter, Laurence Fox was today announced as the host of the Walpole British Luxury Awards 2019, which take place at The Dorchester in London’s Mayfair on Monday 18th November 2019.
Laurence will present awards across ten categories from a shortlist of brands which include V&A Museum & Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, De Beers, Burberry, Ralph & Russo and Smythson among a celebrated collection of British luxury brands.
The annual Walpole British Luxury Awards is the only event dedicated to celebrating the very best high-end products and services from a diverse range of British businesses, spanning multiple sectors: from fashion, fragrance and fine jewellery to hotels, automobiles and accessories. The winners of these prestigious awards are selected by a panel of industry experts, headed up by Walpole’s Chairman, Michael Ward, Managing Director of Harrods and Walpole’s CEO, Helen Brocklebank.
This year, there will be a new category, the ‘Future Legacy’ award, awarded to an iconic British luxury brand that has chosen to use the power of its heritage to build a visionary and relevant story for the future, with innovation and purpose at the heart of what that legacy aims to achieve.
Helen Brocklebank, CEO, Walpole, commented: “I am delighted that Laurence Fox will host this year’s British Luxury Awards: his acclaimed theatre and film work, his television roles as DS James Hathaway in Lewis and as Lord Palmerston in Victoria, and the launch of his second album, A Grief Observed, mark him out as a great British creative talent. The global strength of Britain’s creative industries makes for a powerful context in which the British luxury sector, now worth £48bn to the UK economy, continues to flourish, and it’s exciting to see such a broad spread of brands nominated for the Awards. What makes all of the nominees incredibly special is their relentless quest to take British luxury global, and win hearts all over the world, and their commitment to creativity, collaboration and to building long-term, sustainable businesses. I’m looking forward to hearing Laurence announce the winners on 18th November.”
Over 350 top luxury industry creatives, executives and influencers will gather to applaud Britain’s longstanding luxury companies and emerging talent that have demonstrated the pinnacle of excellence in the last year. Past winners have included Charlotte Tilbury, Victoria Beckham, Bentley, Manolo Blahnik, Emilia Wickstead, and Vanessa Kingori MBE.
